Celebrating Diversity at the 26th International Day

The City of Dollard-des-Ormeaux is proud to invite you to the 26th edition of its International Day, a flagship event that will take place on Sunday, August 24 starting at noon, at Dollard-des-Ormeaux Park.

A true local tradition, the City and its partners are preparing a day of unity and inclusion to celebrate the cultural richness of our 50,000 residents through music, dance, traditional attire, and cuisine. It aims to build bridges between our different communities that make up our city and promote harmony in diversity.

This year, we are delighted to welcome the communities that responded to our call: those from China, Greece, Grenada, India, Iraq, Israel, Italy, Pakistan, Palestine, the Philippines, Poland, and Sri Lanka, who will proudly share the richness of their cultures. Starting early in the afternoon, let yourself be carried away by a series of vibrant performances that will take you on a journey around the world. After the shows, you will be invited to sample traditional specialties graciously offered by volunteers from the participating cultural associations.

International Day reflects who we are and how we thrive together. It celebrates our shared values, resilience, and the vibrant cultural fabric of Dollard-des-Ormeaux. Through strong partnerships with cultural associations, this event highlights the diversity that shapes our city. I warmly invite all residents to join us in celebrating our rich cultural traditions,” said Mayor Alex Bottausci.

We look forward to welcoming you in large numbers to celebrate what sets us apart and what brings us together: the desire to live together in a free, safe, and inclusive community. Together, let us showcase the richness of our cultures and the strength of our community.
